Does life exist post COVID pandemic?

 

Is it too early to talk about life after covid pandemic? Is the world going to see more of lockdowns, restrictions and confinements? Will there be more alerts about next waves and more deadly variants? Are people still prone to covid related sickness and death? Are we too far from the “normal life,” once we were used to?

Questions are many, but who is there to give us the right answer?  

Almost everyone seemed to have failed this time around! Be it healthcare professionals, scientists, astrologers, governments, politicians or spiritual leaders. They didn’t even have a clue of what was coming, let alone taking any precautionary measures to protect the whole of humanity. What happened to the superpowers, America and Europe? And let’s not even talk about China, the world’s biggest economy, else all hell will break loose – the country blamed for spreading the deadly corona. A negligence, the history will not forget, nor will it allow to forgive. That’s what history does, doesn’t it?  

Now the world is busy handling another major crisis – Russia vs Ukraine. The world appears divided on this issue. Corona did have some impact, no matter how insignificant, on uniting the world. And then comes this war! Who instigated it; the time alone will reveal. But the humanity doesn’t seem to learn the basics of coexistence.

The world talks about white supremacy. But this invisible creature didn’t bother about the skin colour – white, black or brown, all were treated equally – a cold blooded massacre of millions worldwide. And those of us who survived will never forget the scar it has left on our ever aching hearts at the loss of loved ones, dear ones and the immense suffering caused by restrictions on our basic freedom. The freedom, that we have always taken for granted! At this juncture in the history of mankind, with our shaken confidence in everything we have believed in so far, we can only hope to preserve our invaluable “Freedom” for our future generations!

The nature has its own ways to correct and teach its children. Yes, it still considers humans as its dearest children and that’s why it has tolerated all our atrocities. But do we also reciprocate equally by seeing the nature as our mother, our mother nature? That’s the question we all have to contemplate upon, before it’s too late! The mother can take the extreme step to eliminate a particular type of species, no matter how special, to protect its other children when there is no hope for any improvement. Maybe, next time she will do a better job by giving birth to a new species, humanlike, but more compassionate, kinder, wiser and more loving. Who knows, what all she is capable of?

So, is there a life after COVID? No definite answer! But, there are many possibilities and some of them can be quite conducive for human growth and overall development, if only we decide to make it happen!
